Every piece we sell was made to be walked on. Here is what our weaving looks like in a room, what it takes to make one, and the botanical dyes that give it its colour.

The workshop

Where they are made

Traditional wooden loom warped with cotton, flanked by spinning wheels, hand tools and hanging kilims — A vertical village loom, warped and half woven — six months of work for a single three-metre kilim.

Wool, dye and knot

Chart of natural plant dyes: chamomile and onion skin for yellow, madder root for red, walnut hull for brown, oak gall and iron for black

Every piece is the only one.
